Owosso First Congregational Church United Church of Christ is a community of faith with a rich past and an exciting future.  The experiences of faith minister to our congregation, our community, our church and the world through worship, fellowship, educational programs, music ministry, outreach and mission.

The avowed purpose of this church is to worship God, to teach and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to celebrate the Sacraments, to realize Christian fellowship and unity with this Church and the Church Universal, to render loving service toward humankind, and to strive for righteousness, justice and peace through:

1.  Inclusion - Each person is welcomed and accepted as a child of God, just as they are.

2.  Belonging - Community of fellowship in which love is experienced

3.  Stewardship - Tithes of money, time and talent to God's service.

4.  Reverence - Worship service reflects a sense of reverence before God.

5.  Heritage - The wisdom of tradition is celebrated and passed on.

6.  Service - Structure is provided for giving the gift of service to others.

7.  Ecumenical Partnership - Joining others in worship and service of God.

8.  Integrity - Actions are consistent with religious foundation.

9.  Education - Worship and Christian Education are integrated to nurture faith and spirituality from infancy.

In Luke 14:28, Jesus asked, Who among you does not first estimate the cost before starting to build a tower?  Otherwise, if a man builds a foundation but cannot afford to finish, he will be ridiculed by others saying, this fellow began to build and was not able to finish.

Our future as a church is built on the continued development of our:

1.  Inner Spirit

2.  Commitment to Service

3.  Openness

4.  Participation

5.  Fellowship

6.  Stewardship

7.  Worship

8.  Education
